The following are upcoming events from the Afternoons with Authors series (sign-up at Front Desk, Library members are free/$5 for non-members):

March 22, 1 pm in Abravenal Hall—Bill Toone, world renowned conservationist returns to discuss his adventures in Madagascar.

June 7, 1 pm in Abravenal Hall—Laurel Corona will be discussing her newest book, “Aloha Wanderwell Takes the Wheel.”  A look at the life of the first female to circumnavigate the world by car.  As a teenager!

July 19–Gregg Brandelise, “The Death of Us All,” a work of historical fiction about an Ohio nun who spent 40 years in the Amazon forest protecting the forest and the indigenous people from the depredations of the government and big agriculture.  She was eventually murdered and is now up for sainthood in the Vatican.

​

Sept. 20, 1 pm in Abravenal Hall—T. Jefferson Parker will be discussing his latest book, “Wild Instinct.”
